Who We Are

Bookends is a bookselling hub for crafts, community, and chaos on the Main Street of Pontotoc Mississippi. Co-owned and operated by sisters Arlissa & Carly, we are immensely proud to bring our hometown’s first indie bookstore to life. As both lifelong readers and lifelong Pontotoc residents, it is our privilege to be booksellers in our home.

What We Do

Bookends focuses on three things: access to books for all ages and interests, providing unique, locally-made, or book-themed gifts, and community building through free & low cost event programming. Bookends is also proud to participate in the organization of the Pontotoc Chamber of Commerce event Pontotoc Nights. 

What’s Next

We are thrilled to be a recipient of the Amex Shop Small Grants Program, thanks to American Express and Main Street America. We're using this generous grant to create the Bookends "Bookin' It" Mobile Bookstore! With the Bookin' It truck, we'll be bringing our love of literature across the state and even further!

Bookin' It will be on the road starting this fall, bringing your next favorite read straight to you. And don't worry Pontotoc, our home base at 7 South Main Street is not going anywhere; we're just making the Bookends family a little bit bigger!
