Bookclub Dues - January 2025
Bookclub Dues - January 2025
Event Date is January 28th at 6:30PM! Bookends is now closed on Tuesdays--to non bookclub members ;) . Don't be alarmed if you arrive to a "closed" sign - we're either in there or almost there to set up for bookclub!
There are two options for bookclub dues. Both will buy your membership for the month's meeting, which will include drinks, snacks, and a special gift or activity tied to the book's theme. The $40 option will include a physical copy of the book which can be picked up at our store. There is also a $25 option that does not include a copy of the book (for all of our audiobook and ebook readers).
Membership can be bought up until the day of the meeting, but the stock of physical books might dwindle in the week or two before the meeting. If that happens, only the $25 no book option will be available for sale on this page.
"The Midnight Library" summary below:
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?
In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig's enchanting blockbuster novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place.
